SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 39                                                
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Alaska             
to guarantee, in addition to the right of the people to keep and               
bear arms as approved by the voters at the time of ratification of             
the state Constitution, that the individual right to keep and bear             
arms shall not be denied or infringed by the state or a political

   "* Sec. 2.  Article XV, Constitution of the State of Alaska, is           
amended by adding a new section to read:                                       
	SECTION 29.  APPLICATION OF AMENDMENT OF                                     
SECTION 19 OF ARTICLE I.  The 1994 amendment of Section                        
19 of Article I does not change the level of judicial scrutiny                 
applicable to the review of laws relating to weapons."
